The Office of the Public Guardian (OPG) wants to hear from you 

Queensland’s Public Guardian advocates for the human rights of vulnerable Queenslanders, including adults who do not have the capacity to make decisions for themselves, children and young people in the child protection system.

It works closely with the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal and often the Public Trustee.

The OPG is developing a new five year strategic plan and hopes to incorporate any insights and feedback from the public in its planning.

Have your say: Aged Care Diversity Framework – Homelessness Action Plan

The Diversity Sub-group of the Aged Care Sector Committee has started work on an action plan under the Aged Care Diversity Framework to help the aged care sector support older people experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness (the Homelessness Action Plan).

The Sub-group is supported in this work by a reference group which has been convened by the Housing for the Aged Action Group (HAAG). HAAG has received funding from the Department of Health.

Streamlined Consumer Assessment for Aged Care

Following on from the Legislated Review of Aged Care 2017 (the Tune Report) the Commonwealth has announced a streamlined consumer assessment process for all aged care services to be delivered by a new national assessment workforce by 2020.

The Department has released a discussion paper to consult on a streamlined assessment model and seek the views of stakeholders and interested parties, including those representing consumers, assessment services, aged care providers and the health and aged care workforce.
