Regional Delivery Partners for the Carers Gateway

Integrated Carer Support Service

On 5 March 2018, the Australian Government announced funding of an additional $85.6 million over four years for the introduction of new services for carers.

This will provide carers with access to new early intervention supports and services to improve carers well-being and long term outcomes.

National Carers Week 2017

Carer Gateway

The Carer Gateway, which is funded by the Australian Government, is a national service which provides information and practical resources to assist carers.

In 2015, almost 2.7 million people identified as informal carers, with just over 856,000 aged 15 years and older identifying as primary carers.  One in 10 carers were under the age of 25, with the average age of a carer being 55.

New Australian Government funded service supports carers

The Assistant Minister for Social Services, Alan Tudge MP, has launched Carer Gateway making it easier for carers to access practical information and advice and connect with services in their local area.Carer Gateway comprises a national telephone service, website and an interactive service finder to help carers locate their nearest existing support services.
