Monday 19 October, 11am – 1pm AEST

📍 COTA Queensland, Level 6, 10 Market Street, Brisbane City QLD

When you arrive at 10 Market Street, enter the building and take the lift to Level 6. Turn right and you’ll see the entrance to the office.

Hosted in partnership with QUT and People Tech Revolution.

Have you experienced loss? Are you over 60 years old? Your insights are needed.

Queensland University of Technology (QUT) is developing an AI app to provide compassionate grief support for older Australians, and they want to design it with the people who might use it. COTA Queensland is proud to be hosting this workshop in Brisbane to support the research.

The Grief Guide app uses artificial intelligence (AI) to provide a conversational experience designed to help you explore ideas, reflect on memories, and interact with the app in ways shaped by your feedback during co-design workshops. AI does not replace a human or a professional, and it does not provide therapy or medical advice.

Who can attend?

Older Australians aged 60 years or older who have:

  • Experienced the death of a person close to them (such as a spouse, partner, family member or friend), and/or
  • Are currently supporting or caring for someone who is dying or nearing the end of life.

Join the workshop to share your experiences and ideas, and tell the research team what works (and what doesn’t). Participants will be provided light refreshments and, as a thank you, a $25 gift card.

Too often, grief support isn’t available when people need it most. Your participation could help create a tool that provides comfort and understanding when traditional support isn’t accessible.
