What is a ‘good death’? This is a situation in which someone is cared for at the end of their life in the way that they choose, rather than finding themselves in a situation where they feel isolated or fearful.
The aim of the Expo is to start conversations around loss, ageing, disability, dying and grief in an open, honest and friendly environment, to help people understand that end of life shouldn’t be a taboo subject!
Just as everyone will experience their own end of life or that of a loved one, the Expo is for everyone, including – but not limited to – people living with a life-limiting illness, older people, younger people, families, carers, school teachers, healthcare professionals, retirees and community groups. There will be something – and answers – for everyone, including intergenerational activities, free espresso coffee, remembrance trees, compassionate communities lounge, expert panel sessions and more.
This innovative, FREE Expo will include discussion panels with experts on topics such as advanced care planning, navigating the health and aged care systems and talking to children about loss and dying. With experts flying in from all over Australia for this exciting event.
