The Faces of Ageing exhibition is a visual exploration of everyday older people in the Maranoa region and beyond. The exhibition challenges the stereotypes associated with ageing.
Photographed by three COTA Community Ambassadors, who are older Queenslanders, the exhibition visually represents the importance of meaningful relationships and community, embracing the present and looking toward the future.
“Every single one of us has our own story, so the lesson is to acknowledge me as an individual — don’t just look at the surface and see the wrinkles and grey hair, or frail exterior”
Exhibition on display from Thursday 6 June – Tuesday 25 June 2019.
This exhibition is a collaborative project between Council on the Ageing (COTA) Queensland and the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) and is being delivered in partnership with the Maranoa Regional Council and the Surat on Balonne Gallery.
