Consumer engagement, choice and control, and the effective engagement of consumers in governance and continuous improvement, is central to the outcomes and requirements that underpin the new aged care quality standards.
The new aged care quality standards increase the focus on quality outcomes for consumers. This means aged care services and organisations should consider how they engage with consumers to partner, co-design and target services that meet the consumer’s expectations and needs.
The aim of this workshop is to provide participants with the knowledge, skills and practical tools to use the Engagement Toolkit developed by the University of Queensland. This toolkit will help aged care providers to develop consumer engagement practices in their services in line with the new standards. Participants will also learn strategies which can be used to support their staff to use the tools to develop these practices.
This workshop requires the completion of a pre-workshop task. This will require participants to commit to 2-3 hours of pre-workshop activities and preparation.
Senior leaders, Managers, Coordinators, staff from home care and residential care service providers who have overall responsibility or have a direct involvement in supporting other staff to develop their practice in relation to partnering and engaging with consumers.
The registration is $352 per person or $334.40 per person for five or more registrations.
