Your experience can help shape change

Older Queenslanders bring a wealth of knowledge, insight and lived experience to the conversations that shape our communities.

Conversations with the Chair is an opportunity to sit down with COTA Queensland Chair Jean McRuvie and talk about what matters to you as you age.

What’s working well? What needs to change? What are you seeing in your community that decision-makers need to understand?

The conversation might include cost of living, housing, health care, transport, access to services, digital inclusion, community connection, or something else entirely.

There’s no expectation that you know about policy or advocacy. We simply want to hear about your experiences, ideas and concerns.

Why join the conversation?

By taking part, you can:

  • share your experiences of ageing in Queensland
  • raise issues affecting you and your community
  • help identify priorities for COTA Queensland’s policy and advocacy
  • hear from other older Queenslanders
  • contribute to conversations about making Queensland a better place to age.

This is your conversation

COTA Queensland works with and for older Queenslanders. Listening directly to older people helps ensure our advocacy reflects the experiences, priorities and concerns of people across our state.

Whether you have something specific you want to raise or simply want to listen and contribute to the discussion, you’re welcome at the table.
