Brisbane South Older People’s Health and Wellness Strategy 2019-2024

 

COTA Queensland Chief Executive Mark Tucker-Evans has joined the Brisbane South Older People’s Health and Wellness Strategy Committee to guide the successful implementation of the joint Metro South Hospital and Health Service/ Brisbane South PHN Health and Wellness Strategy.

The Strategy’s vision is ‘older people in the Brisbane south region experience a greater quality of life through safe connected and coordinated person-centred care in an age-friendly community.

News on pension work bonuses and superannuation

COTA Australia has welcomed an increase of $50 a fortnight in the amount of money pensioners can earn without affecting the age pension income test, as well as changes to the pension loan scheme and retirement income options.

My Health Record privacy provisions

The Australian Parliament has recently passed the My Health Records Amendment (Strengthening Privacy) Bill 2018. These changes are in response to the Australian community’s calls for even stronger privacy and security protections for people using My Health Record.

The measures also allow Australians to opt in or opt out of having a My Health Record at any time during their life.

PC Super report highlights need for full retirement incomes review
