Aged Care Sector Support and Development
The Aged Care Reforms are bringing significant change. Our team is supporting providers through the changes and contributing to an improved aged care sector.
Over 800,000 older Australians are currently supported to live safely and independently in their homes and connected to their communities through the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP).
Council on the Ageing Queensland is supporting providers of the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) prepare for and transition through the reforms.
Our team connects providers with information, resources, support and each other.
Together, through the Commonwealth-funded CHSP Sector Support and Development Program, we are contributing to age-friendly communities in which people have access to care and are supported to maintain their health and wellbeing.
This program helps deliver our vision for a sustainable, inclusive and responsive aged care system that supports us all as we age.

Here’s What Some Providers Say About Our Service
I feel so much better equipped to complete our first kick off meeting [following participation in this workshop] for our own Consumer Journey Mapping project. The timing was perfect. Thanks again
Aged Care Manager
I’m thankful to Council on the Ageing Queensland for providing a central hub where Aged Care services can connect, share knowledge, and work together to better support our community. Their dedication to collaboration helps enhance the sector and unites organisations with the goal of improving the lives of elderly Australians.
Aged Care Strategic Partnerships Manager
I only navigated through my space in the beginning because I was fortunate enough to have other allies around. [The Council on the Ageing Queensland team] who really stood by me and helped me and guided me… Without that support in the background, I think I … would have made probably not necessarily the right decisions.
