Collaboration – we communicate and work collaboratively with older people, with each other, with our partners and with the Queensland community to achieve COTA Queensland’s vision and purpose.

Equity – we recognise the impact of systemic inequalities, disadvantage and discrimination on some Queenslanders as we age and are committed to speaking out on these issues to achieve our vision.

OUR OBJECTIVES

OBJECTIVE 1

To facilitate positive outcomes for Queenslanders with a focus on the Decade of Healthy Ageing local priorities:

  • Combatting Ageism – Changing how we think, feel and act towards age and ageing
  • Age-friendly Environments – developing communities in ways that foster the abilities of older people
  • Integrated Care – delivering person-centred, integrated care and primary health services responsive to older people
  • Long-term Care – providing older people who need it with access to long-term care

OBJECTIVE 2

To be the connection point in Queensland for networks and experts to influence and shape age-related policy, programs and outcomes.

OBJECTIVE 3

To ensure that COTA Queensland is a valued and sustainable organisation.
