Qld Senior/Pensioner concessions and Opal cards on NSW public transport

Queenslanders who have a Seniors Card (not the Seniors Business Discount Card) are eligible for public transport travel concessions in NSW and can apply for a Gold Senior/Pensioner Opal card.

The Gold Senior/Pensioner Opal cards are available to NSW Seniors, Commonwealth Pensioner Concession Card holders (from all states and territories), and NSW War Widows.

Important information before applying for a Gold Opal card:

When travelling with your Gold Opal card you must carry your Seniors Card as proof of entitlement or you may be fined.

Concessions are generally not available on private ferries, event shuttle buses, chartered buses and Great Southern Rail services.

Eligible seniors pay the Concession Sydney Airport station access fee when travelling with a Gold Opal card to or from the airport train stations.
