The Gold Senior/Pensioner Opal cards are available to NSW Seniors, Commonwealth Pensioner Concession Card holders (from all states and territories), and NSW War Widows.
Important information before applying for a Gold Opal card:
- Make sure you have your Seniors Card number ready
- Prepare a photocopy or scan of your Seniors Card (front and back)
- Complete and save the Interstate Seniors (excluding ACT Seniors) Application for a Gold Senior/Pensioner Opal Card form and prepare the supporting documents to be uploaded and submitted online at transportnsw.info/contact-us/feedback/concessions-feedback
- Please note is is recommended that you submit your application at least three to four weeks before travelling to NSW.
When travelling with your Gold Opal card you must carry your Seniors Card as proof of entitlement or you may be fined.
Concessions are generally not available on private ferries, event shuttle buses, chartered buses and Great Southern Rail services.
Eligible seniors pay the Concession Sydney Airport station access fee when travelling with a Gold Opal card to or from the airport train stations.
