Applications are now open for innovative age-friendly community projects that will enable people of all ages to actively participate in community life.
Queensland Government’s vision is to build an age-friendly state in which all Queenslanders, regardless of their age, can stay active and connected, and contribute economically, socially and culturally.
Over three years from 2017–18, $1 million per year is available through open funding rounds to seed fund community projects involving partnerships with local government and other organisations to co-develop, implement and promote innovative age-friendly projects.
The 2019–20 grants round focuses on innovative approaches, responses and solutions to local issues that meet the criteria set out by the World Health Organization’s eight age-friendly domains, with a specific focus this year on:
- communication and information
- social participation.
Applications will close at 5pm on Monday 10 June 2019.
