This year the event will run from Monday 3rd July to Saturday 8th July with over 50 speakers presenting on just about every subject you can imagine with the highlight of the week being the keynote address which is to be held at the State library of Queensland Auditorium at 2pm, Monday 3rd July. This year’s keynote address will be by the eminent Queensland palaeontologist, Dr Steven Salisbury and the subject will be about the dinosaurs of the Kimberley region of Western Australia that roamed that region 130 million years ago and the present threats to this very important archaeological site. This unique event is now in its 10th year under the capable stewardship of long time U3A member, Anne Douglass but, from this year, the baton has changed to immediate Past President, Marilyn Wagland who now heads the organising committee for this event.
Considering the quality of the presenters, all of whom are experts in their filed, the cost has been kept extremely low at on $5 per session and $10 for the keynote address.
Both members and guests are welcome to all presentation but bookings are essential, especially for the keynote address as the available seats normally sell out very quickly.
Member bookings can be made online at: www.u3abrisbane.org.au or phone the office on: 3236 3055. Non-members can book at this office number or email:firstname.lastname@example.org
