Ilona has been a member of U3A Twin Towns for nearly a decade.  In that time, she has been an incredibly active participant in and organiser of U3A activities and events.

Currently Ilona is Vice-President of U3A Twin Towns and takes her role as Vice President very seriously. She is a great support, well informed and active member of the committee.

“Ilona is an enthusiastic and expert user of technology in all its forms and was the Computer Coordinator up until assuming the position of Vice-President. During her coordination role, she coached individual members in the use of their electronic equipment, sourced and organised computer tutors, and ensured the functionality of the office equipment.” Promotions Officer Ruth Voss said.

“Ilona has has worn many hats over the years. From MC’ing functions, photography, caterer, and helper.  If you have attended a function, you would have seen her colourful posters.

“Ilona has also served as funding officer and money for new equipment in the office and the enhancement of our surrounds has come from grants obtained by Ilona.”

Recently, Ilona worked as co-convenor of the committee that organised the 2017 Network Queensland State Conference.  Her enthusiasm and dedication helped make the conference a financial, social and organisational success.

“Ilona is always encouraging and supportive of our members and she is renowned for her friendliness to all.  It is notable that in this first year in which members have been able to nominate persons for this award, Ilona’s name came up very regularly in the nominations received.”
