Getting to know Jane Holloway, Project Support Volunteer

Jane Halloway

Since December 2015 Jane has been a valued member of the COTA Queensland team, as a Project Support Volunteer, assisting our Community Education program.

You may have spoken to her if your group has booked a Peer Education session.

While we know Jane pretty well, we wanted to share a bit more about her with you.

Can you play an instrument or speak any other languages?
No, none of these.  I love music and support the Queensland Medical Orchestra and Choir and popular local Brisbane band, Chi Chi (my friend Tom is the percussionist).

What is your favorite thing you do in your spare time or what would be your perfect day?
I am passionate about textiles. I am a member of the Embroiderers’ Guild of Queensland, Apatchy Quilting and Redcliffe Spinners and Weavers.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Always to my home town, London.  I was born in Greenwich and my playground was the Royal Park.

Where is the best place you have travelled?

If you could have one superpower, what would it be and how would you use it?
X-Ray vision would be interesting. I would be very mischievous using it!

If you could see any concert/musician (dead or alive), what would it be?
Well, I have seen the Beatles when they played Brisbane in 1967- what more could you want?

Who is your personal hero?
Gosh, that’s tough as I admire quite a few women.. .Maggie Taberer, Ita Buttrose, Germaine Greer, Jane Goodall… I suppose any woman who is trying her best to live a good life is a hero in my eyes.  I admire David Attenborough enormously. So many, hard to choose.

What is the craziest thing you have ever done?
That’s a secret!
