COTA Queensland is represented on the Energy Consumer Reference Group to provide the Minister for Energy and Water Utilities Stephen Robertson with input on issues affecting small customers. The State Government has announced new methodology and tariff structures to be developed by the Queensland Competition Authority to commence on 1 July 2012.

The increasing cost of electricity and water is having a major impact on older people and others on low income and COTA will be advocating that the new pricing framework must be fairer and flexible to meet the needs of older people.
